Origins of the Future  - Cassina's New 2016 Collection

Origins of the Future, Cassina’s latest collection was revealed in their Milan Showroom at this year’s Milan design week. Patricia Urquiola curated an ‘art gallery’ feel with a pure, neutral theme, accompanied by breaks in colour. The new collection became the ‘art’ on show celebrating the concept of 'The work of the designer, like the work of an artist'

Above: The 'Boboli Table' designed by Rodolfo Dordoni utilises the latest technologies by showcasing thin vertical strips of metal, which twist to create a sculptural effect forming the table’s base. There is now over 100 combinations available in a range of sizes and finishes.

Below: '199 10' series, designed by Piero Lissoni, is available in both a dining table as well as a side table option. The table is simple, monolithic in form, which highlights Cassina's stunning materials. The dining table is currently available in White Carrara Marble and the side table, Black Ash-Wood or Canaletto Walnut.



Above: Ora Ito explores the art of giving simplicity to an object with the 'Ico Chair'. A timber frame with upholstered seat in leather or fabric. Celebrating the finest carpentry and innovative comfort, makes this chair both suitable for residential and commercial spaces.

Above: 'Deadline Collection of Mirrors', by Ron Gilad, was a key feature throughout the installation. Referencing the contemporary art world, the design is thought of as a complex architecture, a reflection of a reflection or a construction of illusion and reality.

Above: 'Volage EX-S' designed by Philippe Starck is a new generation of sofa. The evolution of the Privé/Volage fixed sofa to a versatile sectional sofa. It offers an extra soft continuous cushion seat with wide armrests. A tempting invitation to gather and relax in the home.



Above: 'Beam Sofa System' by Patricia Urquiola is a new sofa system which floats horizontally along a rigorous beam base. This beam base contrasts against soft and inviting cushions. Available in a range of modular options, as well as two or three seater options.
