Cassina celebrates the 50th anniversary of the LC collection - 1965-2015: a golden anniversary for Italian manufacturer and the masters of 20th Century design.
2015 is an important year to celebrate one of the most significant collections of contemporary design. In 1964, while Le Corbusier and the co-creators were around, Cassina signed the contract to start producing the first four models by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret and Perriand. By choosing Cassina Le Corbusier demonstrated great international recognition of the Italian company's industrial know-how. Over the years Cassina has developed the LC Collection adding models by the three and other projects that Le Corbusier worked on alone once he had reached full artistic maturity.
Cassina is the only authorised company to produce designs by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand, working in close collaboration with the Le Corbusier Foundation and the heirs of the co-creators. It is vital to fight against imitations and protect the culture of design in order to sustain innovation and quality.

2014 coming to an end 2014 has been a great year but it is coming to an end, may 2015 be an even greater year for all of us. This year at Matisse we were thrilled to have acquired prestigious brands to add to our extensive portfolio; Poltrona Frau, Brand van Egmond and Vondom all of which are globally recognized not only as design leaders in their specialist fields but for the matchless quality of their materials and workmanship.
Poltrona Frau, established in Italy in 1912, is synonymous with the highest, most exacting standards of leatherwork. For over a century the company has developed from a small workshop producing handcrafted furniture pieces to the company that it is today - one which produces luxury leather interiors for cars (Lamborghini, Ferrari, Jaguar), planes, yachts, cinemas, ships, even the European Parliament in Brussels. Amazingly, the superb leather quality and hand craftsmanship has survived - machinery is rarely heard in their factory.
